Growing Together Day: An Opportunity to Celebrate, Inspire and Thrive

What a day to remember! Our Growing Together Day at Billingham Symphonia Suites brought together colleagues, volunteers, and supporters to share stories, celebrate successes, and inspire one another. The energy in the room was electric, and the memories will stay with us for a long time.

A Joyful Morning

The day began with smiles, coffee, and conversation as attendees arrived. 

Emma Howitt, our CEO, officially opened the event, reflecting on the progress we’ve made as an organisation and the exciting journey ahead.

Elizabeth Coupe, our Comms Manager, showcased the work of some of our services through video reels that included the Recovery College, Social Prescribing Team, Safe Space Chat Service, Be Heard Service and our team in Redcar. It was an inspiring reminder of the impact our teams have, leaving the room feeling proud.

She was followed by Heather Watson and our Trustees, who shared their insights in a playful "Guess Who" game, offering a light-hearted yet meaningful glimpse into their dedication to our cause.

A highlight of the morning was Stuart Myers, who shared his deeply moving story of resilience. His journey inspired everyone in the room, a powerful reminder of the strength we carry when we support one another.

An Inspiring Afternoon

The afternoon talks brought even more inspiration:

Kerry Robinson, our Deputy CEO, celebrated the contributions of our volunteers, whose dedication drives everything we do.

Celebrating Excellence: The Nicky Crombie Awards

One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the Nicky Crombie Awards 2024, recognising the exceptional work of:

Manager Category

Winner: Claire Pitt, Fundraising Manager

Runners-up: Samantha Hume and Andrea Fourie

Non-Manager Category

Winner: Sarah Jane Ashcroft

Runners-up: Michael Robinson and Ian Meredith

Applause and cheers filled the room as we celebrated the honourees and their achievements; a testament to dedication and teamwork.

The Crystal Maze

The surprise Crystal Maze activity brought a burst of excitement as attendees worked together to solve puzzles and challenges. It was a perfect way to showcase creativity and collaboration while having fun.

A Warm Farewell

As the day wound down, Kerry Robinson delivered heartfelt closing remarks. The event concluded with a slideshow of photos celebrating everyone who made the day special - a touching reminder of the Teesside Mind community.
