Our fundraising pack is also full of handy hints and tips to set you on your way and has everything you need to make your fundraising as simple as possible. You can download it here.
Can I host my own event?
Yes of course you can.
Whether you’re walking, running, swimming, climbing, skydiving, baking, crafting or knitting, we’ll support you every step of the way.
You can register your event here
How will my money be spent?
Every penny we receive is spent here helping local people.
Your money will help us to provide a variety of services which help make sure no one in Teesside has to face a mental health problem alone.
Can I fundraise for a specific project?
The money we receive from fundraising is used to find a variety of projects and services.
We’re constantly reviewing how best to spend our funds to make sure they’re providing the best value for money and maximum impact.
For this reason, we prefer to use donations to fund whichever of our services are most in need, but if you would like us to use your gift towards a specific aspect of our work you can talk to us and we can see what we can do.
Rest assured, your money will be spent to make a difference helping people in your local community.
How to start fundraising
How do I register my event, challenge or activity?
If you have a plan and your event is taking shape then you can register it here and we’ll help you drive it forward.
How do I set up an online fundraising page?
Setting up your online fundraising page is quick and easy.
You can do it here via JustGiving and simply select us, Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind, as your chosen charity from the drop down menu. All income is transferred directly to us, so all you have to do is share your page on Facebook and Twitter to get the word out to all your friends and family.
Supporters who use JustGiving often raise more money than people fundraising offline.
How can I promote my event, challenge or activity?
There are lots of different ways you can make some noise about your fundraising.
Social media is one of the most effective ways and there are some great ideas and tips here. Plus, we’ll promote your activity on our social media channels too if you’re happy for us to help.
If you’re doing something unique or particularly challenging, then the local press may be interested in covering it and we can help you with this.
Our fundraising pack is full of materials and details for how to promote your event and how we can help
What if I don’t hit my fundraising target?
We only have targets for event teams we organise such as The Great North Run or The Yorkshire Three Peaks.
Setting a target is a great way of focusing you though and helps motivate others to help you reach it and hopefully exceed it!
We can help you set a realistic target after chatting with you and finding out more about your activity. You can reach out to us at fundraising@middlesbroughandstocktonmind.org.uk or call us on 01642 257020.
Always remember though, we’re grateful for any donations received and your fundraising should be fun and not too pressured, we want you to enjoy it.
What support can you expect?
Will you promote my event, challenge or activity?
Absolutely, we can support you with posts on social media, sharing your posts and generating some interest.
Our fundraising pack is full of materials and details for how to promote your event and how we can help.
If we think the media will be interested in covering the story then we might suggest this to you too but only if you’re comfortable with it.
Can I use the Teesside Mind logo?
Yes, we can provide our logo (there are guidelines for using it) to help you if it’s needed.
Will you provide sponsorship forms, collection buckets etc?
Yes, we can supply materials and aids to help you depending upon the type of event you’re undertaking.
Reach out to us to find out more.
What to do once you've finished?
How do I get my money to you?
Once you’re completed your fundraising it’s really easy to get your money to us.
You can find out more here.
How do I claim Gift Aid?
Once you've sent your donations to us, just pop your sponsorship form in the post to the address at the top of the form and we’ll be able to claim the Gift Aid.
If the donors are UK taxpayers we can claim an extra 25p from HMRC for every pound that they donate to Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind so please remind them to tick the box and complete their details.
If you’re fundraising online then it’s even easier, as it’s automatically added if the donor ticks the box on the Just Giving page.
What else can I do to support you?
There are lots of other ways you can support us.
You could volunteer as we’re always looking for more people to help us deliver our services. You can find out more about what it means to be a volunteer here.
