Three Peaks, 24 miles, 12 hours.
Can you take on this climb to make a difference for better mental health in Teesside?
What's the challenge?
Within the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park lie the iconic three peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. For the Yorkshire three peaks challenge you'll summit all three peaks in 12 hours, so that we can support more people in Teesside to have better mental health.
With the breathtaking Yorkshire countryside surrounding you, it’s a great experience for teams and individuals as well as being a brilliant way to fundraise for us.
What do I need to know?
You’ll start the circular Yorkshire Three Peaks route after your safety briefing in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, then make your way to the summits of Pen Y Ghent (694 m or 2,277ft), Whernside (736 m or 2,415 ft), and then the final summit of Ingleborough (723 m or 2,372 ft) with its awe-inspiring views, before back to the base station in Horton-in-Ribblesdale. All within 12 hours.
As with any physical challenge, you'll need to make time for preparation, but the Yorkshire Three Peaks is totally ‘do-able’ for most reasonably fit people.
There are multiple dates to choose from across the year.
What support will I get?
We’ll be there for you on the day and all the way in the lead up to it, providing support in your training and fundraising. We’re partnering with our friends at Overlimits so you can look forward to highly trained, experienced marshall and Mountain Leader support, including optional pre-challenge training treks and peer support.
Once you sign up you’ll receive your welcome pack, containing loads of great fundraising advice and support, plus information about the route, your kit and training, to really make sure you’re fully prepared and ready to take on the challenge. We’ll also give you one of our branded T-shirts to wear on the day.
Our team of staff and volunteers will greet you with a warm welcome as you arrive and be there to celebrate your success as you finish your challenge; with post-trek refreshments and to present your hard-earned medal.
