Getting Help
We all struggle to manage our thoughts and emotions at times and for children and young people it's no different.
Lots of children experience low mood and anxiety, and it’s so important that we help them to understand why they’re feeling this way, and help them manage their thoughts and emotions.
Getting Help is our emotional wellbeing and talking therapy service and it’s been designed especially for children and young people in Teesside.
Who is this service for?
We work with children aged eight and above, but we can also work with younger children alongside a parent.
To access our support the child or young person must be
- aged 8-18
- living in Teesside
What we can do to help you
There are lots of ways we can help a child or young person depending upon what they’re struggling with and how it’s affecting them. Every young person is different, so it’s important that we tailor the support to them and find a way to connect with them.
Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner
We can offer low intensity support for those children and young people that are experiencing low to moderate anxiety and low mood.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
We also provide high intensity support for those children and young people that are experiencing moderate to severe anxiety and low mood.
Parenting Intervention
Parenting can be stressful and it’s normal to struggle from time to time. We can support you if you’re finding family life tough and provide one to one support that works for your family and its needs.
How do we deliver this service?
Our team woks predominantly in schools, but we can deliver face to face sessions in one of our offices, at home or at a community outreach location of your choice.
Or, if they prefer, we can meet the children and young people online or we can provide telephone support.
We can be flexible to suit you and your child’s needs.
